Little Lambs Village Preschool Mission
Our MISSION is to prepare each child to be socially and academically ready for Kindergarten. We fulfill this mission by mentoring and nurturing each child in developmentally appropriate learning experiences. We allow each child to explore and bloom, being actively involved in hands on creative learning, structured routines, and in a non-structured play settings for social skills development.
As prescribed by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), we give attention to the two dimensions of developmental appropriateness in our program- 1) the age appropriateness and 2) the individual appropriateness.
Overview of the Program
We follow the guidelines of the Creative Curriculum Philosophy and Approach to Early Childhood Education in facilitating developmental appropriate learning experiences. We also add a Spiritual aspect which emphasizes character.

COGNITIVE & LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT:
To acquire learning and problem-solving skills
To expand logical thinking skills

To expand verbal communication skills
To develop beginning reading skills
To acquire beginning writing skills
To enhance gross and fine motor skills
To use all senses in learning
To have an basic knowledge about and develop a personal trust in God
To have an early start of prayer life
To experience being a part of a faith community
LLVP implements a graded curriculum. There are two grades for our youngest group – older 2’s and Young 3’s and the older three year olds . There are three grades for our for four-year olds tract:: the basic curriculum in MWF class, intermediate curriculum in the Tuesday to Friday class, and advanced curriculum in the five day program (pre-K).
LLVP academic goals and objectives are aligned with the State of Virginia Foundation Blocks for Early Learning. The Personal Growth & Development Assessment checklist follows the guideline from the American Academy of Pediatric Developmental Milestone Standards.
To enroll in Little Lambs, a child must at least be 2 years & 9 months old by September 30. It is expected that a child has already acquired independent toileting skills, is fully potty trained, and able to verbalize needs to the teachers.

10 students to 2 teachers (in the two day class)
16 students to 2 teachers
1 lead teacher and 1 teacher assistant
Morning class 9:00 – 12 noon
Full Day 9:00 – 3:00 pm (Lunch is from 12:00-12:30)
