FAQ for guests
How do I get there?
Our Church is visible but not accessible from Lee Highway. You must turn off Linton Hall Road at Whitney Road at the Sunoco Gas station. Then turn Right, Left and Right again into Logos Way. Look for yellow directional signs. Click here for a map.
Where do I park?
Drive past the Transmission shop and turn left into our property. It is best to park in the large parking area behind the Blue building rather than driving around to the ‘front’. This is because turning space is narrow there and parking spaces are limited. In the event of the parking lot being full you can park on Logos Way just as easily.
How do I enter the building?
Make your way around the porch to the main entrance on the side facing Lee Highway. As you enter the building the worship area is on the right and the bathrooms down a short corridor on the left. The nursery is up the spiral stairs.
Where do my kids go?
We encourage the whole family to begin worship together in the sanctuary. After opening prayers and praise the kids are invited to leave with their teachers to their class. We have classes for all ages from 4 years old to High School. They will be gone for about 30 minutes while the bible readings and sermon continue in the sanctuary. The service concludes with the communion and kids return to the sanctuary to rejoin their family for the closing.
What do I wear?
We have no dress code at Church of the Word, come in whatever makes you feel comfortable.
What else happens on Sunday?
For the Summer months (June to August) we have one worship services at 10:30am. A Korean Church meets in our building at 1pm for worship and fellowship. Sometimes we have an evening class.
What happens on weekdays?
Five Camps take place during the Summer! The building is fairly busy on weekdays with Little Lambs Village Preschool who follow PWC school timetable. During the summer we have a variety of camps and VBS. Wednesday is family night with all age activities. Apart from these fixed ministries various special events and community groups meet, details on these change.
Can I meet with the Pastor?
Yes! Pastor Robin T. Adams is usually available during hospitality hour and you can call the church to set up an appointment or e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org. If there is a need to, he will make home calls or visit the hospital.
How can I find the help I need?
We have a welcome packet for first time visitors. In it you will find contact information for various ministry leaders. You can always call the office at 703-754-9673 with your question and we will endeavor to get back to you a.s.a.p. It is our intention to place as much relevant information on this website as possible. A healing prayer team is available at the close of each worship service.
