Church of the Word
HOME GROUPS & OTHER SMALL GROUPS

Home Groups at Church of the Word are gatherings of about 6 to 15 people. Most of our Home Groups meet on a weekly basis but sometimes less frequently. The focus of Home Group activity is on God's Word, enjoying fellowship, supporting each other in prayer, and on mutual encouragement.

It is a good idea for every Christian to be involved in an active Home Group. At Church of the Word, we aim to provide many opportunities for people to join Home Groups. We offer them in different locations: Midland, Gainesville, Manassas, etc. Home Groups tackle different subjects, perhaps using study booklets, audio tapes, or video tapes. They are available on different days of the week.

Under the guidance of the Rector, new groups can be formed and existing groups re-invigorated as the need arises. Sometimes a group will meet for years, growing very deep friendships, and sometimes they covenant to meet for a season to tackle a specific subject or project.
