What’s a young adult?
That’s a pretty good question. Young adults come in all shapes and styles. Some are single, some married, some with kids, some without. Some are fully independent, some are students living with parents or roommates. One person’s season in life from ages 18-49 years old might look completely different from another’s. But despite all the differences, we all come together to encounter and share Jesus as we grow and change in our walk with Him. You might not really fit in with youth or with Friends Over 50, but there is a place for you in the church and in the community.
Paul says, in his letter to Timothy (4:12), “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” As young adults, whatever season we are in, we all have people we influence in our day-to-day lives. They could be co-workers, classmates, kids, spouses, neighbors, some or all of the above. We’re all called to live lives devoted to Jesus, so that others may see our joy and our service and want to know more. Friends and strangers are paying attention, whether we know it or not. Let’s strive to support each other as we grow in Him and share His love with the world. We can do that through fellowship, prayer, Bible Study, and service together.
